Ein Migdal

12:00 PM, Valley of Springs. The sun blazes overhead as temperatures hit new highs. If you’ve been here, you know the only cure is a plunge into the Valley of Springs’ cold, clear waters. That’s why we’ve picked 6 incredible springs to kick off your ultimate summer escape.

1. Ein Nazem

Just outside Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, fields and lush stream vegetation hide Ein Nazem—also known as Ein Khonzir. This spring ranks among the Valley’s best: big, deep, cool, and perfect for a refreshing swim. You can drive right up to it. A jumping platform and large pergola add extra fun and comfort—perfect for brewing fresh coffee.

2. Ein Migdal

Ein Migdal easily claims the title of clearest spring in the Valley of Springs. It flows into the nearby Kibbutzim Stream. Nearby, you’ll also find Ein Homa—named alongside Ein Migdal after the historic “Tower and Stockade” settlements—but unlike Migdal, Homa isn’t suitable for swimming. Located in the Springs Park, Ein Migdal invites you to dip into its crystal-clear waters, surrounded by lush aquatic plants and towering reeds.

3. Ein Shokek

Ein Shokek fills a wide, round pool about 1.5 meters deep that stays full all year—perfect for cooling off on a hot day. Plants like wild raspberry, papyrus, and reed thrive around the pool. The spring feeds into the Kibbutzim Stream. Locals once called it El Jusk—“Palace Spring”—likely because of the old flour mill next to the pool. Powered by the spring, the mill’s drainage pool later watered livestock. Today, hikers and swimmers flock here.

4. Ein Moda

Ein Moda offers a spacious, well-maintained spring with picnic tables and shaded seating. Its pool, 1–1.5 meters deep, suits families who want nature without sacrificing comfort. Clear, clean water, BBQ spots, trash bins, and drinking taps make it ideal for a relaxed outing. You can’t drive all the way there—but rent an electric cart or walk the 800 meters from the lot.

5. The White Waterfalls

A bit north of Ein HaNatziv, not far from the kibbutz, you’ll find this stunning spot nicknamed The White Waterfalls. Foamy streams rush down the river, creating a shallow wading pool and a rope swing near the water. A small hydroelectric power station sends water downhill to generate energy—and yes, it’s safe to swim in.

6. Ein Yizrael

Ein Yizrael, a tunnel spring at Mount Gilboa’s base, pours into a large, meter-deep pool beside an old pump house. Eucalyptus trees around the spring offer natural shade. Just 20 meters south, a beautiful T-shaped tunnel invites adventure. Enter through the eastern shaft and walk 20 meters to a fork: go left to reach a second entrance, or right to reach the spring outlet that flows into the pool. The 1.5-meter-high tunnel holds water up to 60 cm deep, but you’ll need to crouch toward the exit—so empty your pockets before diving in.
